CSISAC - Civil Society Information Advisory Council – Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

Welcome to the website of CSISAC (hereafter, the "Site"), at https://csisac-community.org/. This Site belongs to CSISAC, Civil Society Information Advisory Council. We are a group of non-profit civil society organizations and individuals and we were recognized as the voice of civil society at the OECD Committee on the Digital Economy Policy. We facilitate the exchange of information between the OECD and civil society participants from all over the world, leading to better-informed and more widely accepted policy frameworks.
These Terms of Use & Privacy Policy reflect the way we will act regarding personal data and site operation in general.

Changes to the Document

CSISAC reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice. Your use of the Site after these changes means you implicitly agree to follow and be bound by the new terms and conditions. Hence, you should read them carefully before each visit to our Site.

Changes to / Operation of the Site

- CSISAC may change the format and content of this Site at any time.
- CSISAC may suspend the operation of this Site for maintenance or technical service, update of content, or any other reason.
- CSISAC reserves the right to suspend access to this Site at any time without notice.

Use of the Site

1- The sole purpose of the data contained on the Site is to serve as a link between civil society and the OECD, primarily the CDEP Committee on Digital Economy Policy, other OECD Committees, and other stakeholders CSISAC relates to, and provide knowledge, a fundamental rights perspective and a citizen-centered approach, as well as to formalize a space for civil society to interact within CSISAC community and with the OECD, its authorities, staffers, members, associates and other stakeholders.
2- CSISAC assumes no responsibility whatsoever for potential risks associated with the access and use of the Site and the information contained therein.
3- The User agrees and acknowledges that the operation and interpretation of the Site contents are at his/her sole and exclusive risk. CSISAC shall not be liable for the improper use of the Site, nor for actual, direct, or indirect damages invoked by parties who allege to have been induced to make decisions by consulting the Site.
4-The User expressly waives the right to make any claim arising from the access and use of the information contained in the Site.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights over the articles, videos, and any other content published on the Site (hereafter, the "Content") belong exclusively to CSISAC or their authors, and the use of the Content for commercial purposes is prohibited without the express authorization of CSISAC or the respective author.

Data Protection - Privacy Policy

At CSISAC, we believe that the privacy and confidentiality of the information that users share with us are extremely important.
Therefore, personal data is processed in compliance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Regulations, and its complementary amendments, thus guaranteeing the safeguard of your rights under the applicable Personal Data Protection Law.
This CSISAC Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy") details the types of personal data we collect from our clients when reaching us through our Contact Email. It also specifies the purpose, the treatment we give to such data, and the rights that the user has regarding them.
This Privacy Policy shall not apply to any other sites or e-mail addresses controlled by third parties unrelated to CSISAC, even if accessed through links available on the Site ("Third-Party Sites"). Please refer to the privacy policies of the Third-Party Sites, as CSISAC is not responsible for their content or privacy practices and has no incidence over them.

What types of data do we collect?

CSISAC does not collect users’ data through the Site. The only personal data that CSISAC may collect will be that which is voluntarily provided when reaching us through our Contact Email. CSISAC adheres to a strict anti-spam policy, making it easy for you to unsubscribe. CSISAC may collect the following types of personal data, voluntarily provided by the user, while performing our operations ("Personal Data" refers to all of the categories listed below in aggregate: Identification and contact data, such as name, gender, address, phone number, email address, age, date of birth, occupation or position held, and educational background).
If you act on behalf of someone else, that person must sign a written authorization to allow the use of their data. You must ensure that the data subject has read this Privacy Policy so as to be informed of the purpose for which their personal information will be used.
Any damage arising from inaccurate or incomplete information is not the responsibility of CSISAC, for which the user must check the documentation and information sent to us through our Contact Email. Purposes and Use of Your Personal Data

By using our Contact Email, you consent to the collection, storage, and other uses of Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy.
CSISAC will use your Personal Data to:
1. Fulfill your request for information or admission, expressly including registrations for webinars, chats, workshops, and online meetings or any other activity posted on the Site;
2. Address any complaints, questions, or comments;
3. Send you notifications, notices, or adverts about our products and services to the extent permitted by applicable law;
4. Send you information, magazines, and news about fundamental rights advocacy or issues that we consider may be of your interest, as well as news, communications, or advertising from CSISAC;
5. Send you notifications of changes to this Privacy Policy;
6. On the occasion of receiving your application for admission to CSISAC through the application process described on the Website.
Personal Data will be processed for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Should it happen that, due to legal or regulatory provisions in force, Personal Data needs to be stored for longer periods than those determined, CSISAC may keep such data for the period indicated by such norms and/or as long as necessary to comply with its obligations.

How do we protect your information?

We take great care in implementing and maintaining your Personal Data security. CSISAC, therefore, proceeds with the appropriate legal, administrative, and technical steps to ensure your data security by preventing its alteration, loss, improper processing, or unauthorized access, and by requiring any third party to comply with similar security measures. Information that can be readily linked to you personally, such as your name and address, is stored by us on servers subject to security safeguards. We require our service providers to whom we transfer your information to agree to take reasonable security measures in the handling and storage of your data. For service providers with access to particularly sensitive information, we may also undergo a more intensive assessment of their platforms and security practices to verify their commitments to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of data in their possession. We will exercise reasonable prudence in providing secure transmission of information between your device and our servers.

How and with whom do we share your Personal Information?

It is expressly stated that Personal Data and information provided by the user may be disclosed, processed, collected, analyzed, disseminated, stored, used, shared, and/or transmitted or transferred by CSISAC to its members and third parties affiliated or related to CSISAC. If you prefer that your postal information not be shared, please write to us immediately using the contact details below and we will honor your wishes immediately CSISAC does not rent, exchange or sell Personal Information. The recipients of such Personal Data may be located within or outside the national territory, including lawyers, accountants, technical support companies, and other firms that make up and assist CSISAC.
The contracts with these third party vendors include a strict confidentiality clause that prohibits use and disclosure of confidential information received or obtained during the performance of the agreements or in the course of providing such services, and carries damages, penalties and other injunctive remedies for a vendor’s violation of these confidentiality requirements.
We may also disclose your data if we are required to do so by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, a court order, or government reporting obligations. If we determine we are required by law to disclose your data and if we are legally permitted to do so, we will provide you with notice of the request prior to making the disclosure to give you an opportunity to object to the disclosure.
In case the transfer of Personal Data must be done internationally, CSISAC undertakes to comply with the norms of the applicable legislation.

Storage and Location of Your Personal Data

CSISAC may store and save your data in databases located within the national territory or abroad.

Access, Rectification, Erasure, and Revocation Rights

As a User, you may exercise the following rights before CSISAC:
- Right of Access: You may request details regarding your Personal Data and access your stored personal information in CSISAC’s databases. You may also obtain a copy of the personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
- Right of Rectification: You may request the rectification of your personal information in CSISAC's databases when it is incorrect or inaccurate.
- Right of Erasure: You may request the erasure of your personal information from CSISAC's databases.
- Revocation of Revocation: The data subject may object to, limit the use or disclosure of, or withdraw consent to the processing of your Personal Data.

Should you deem that CSISAC fails to comply with its obligation to safeguard the rights detailed above within the legal timeframe, for any concerns related to the processing of your Personal Data or dissatisfaction with the handling of a request related to data security, you may file a complaint with the personal data protection agency.
In Argentina, the Access to Public Information Agency (AAIP), in its capacity as Control Authority of Law No. 25.326, is responsible for dealing with complaints and claims filed by those whose rights are affected by a breach of the regulations regarding personal data protection in force.
