Ministerial Day 1: The OECD AI Principles – impact on the global policy landscape

On Wednesday, December 14, CSISAC delegates participated in the Ministerial panel "The OECD AI Principles - impact on the global policy landscape", in the framework of the OECD 2022 Ministerial Meeting, which is being held until December 16 in Gran Canaria, Spain.

This session focused on the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the global policy landscape. Rebecca Finley, CSISAC member and CEO of Partnership on AI, spoke about the resources needed for the creation and regulation of new technologies. "We need to share resources if we are going to use AI for good. Interoperability is critical for making that happen. How do you connect companies for fairness and making a better world?", said the delegate.



Concluding the meeting, Vilas Dhar, CSISAC delegate and President of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, mentioned the importance of the integration of civil society and IA. "We have to center everything we do on AI around human life. This is no longer the domain of a few institutions debating at closed doors. We need to bring civil society to the table. We are talking about the digital future", concluded.
